The Club holds monthly committee meetings as follows:
When | 7:30 PM - every 1st (non Bank Holiday) Monday of each month |
Where | BRCC Club House |
Who | Committee members, but the meeting is open to any club member to attend and join in most discussions. There maybe however be some issues which are sensitive and would be discussed privately by committee members only. |
Purpose | To manage, organise and run BRCC |
Jul 2018 | Meeting = Monday 2nd July 2018 |
Jun 2018 | The following main points were discussed / decided: (4th Jun 2018 - Jackie Popland / Ian McDonnell / Mick Case / Joy Wilkinson / Terry Bush / Patrick Smith) GDPR had been rolled out with a statement on the club's webpages and membership database and online sign-on forms now fully compliant Treasurer: - The bank balance is now £20,573. The rise in the balance due to approx. £6000+ being returned from dormant Halifax savings accounts. Many thanks to Jackie Popland, the treasurer, for her perseverance in the recovery of these funds.
Hello Terry, It is with sadness that I write to let you know that my dear Mum, Jean Nicol, passed away on 18/04/18. She had been quite poorly with Multiple Myeloma and Alzheimers during the past year but previous to that was still very fit for her age (nearly 90) and out and about each day. Whilst looking through your website I was delighted to see a photo of both Jean and my dad, Ralph, outside the Memorial Clubhouse in 1953, standing at the back underneath the sign (they must be standing on a bench!). It reminded me of the many happy times spent at the clubhouse in the 60s and 70s with Ken & Hilda Lovelock, Tom & Connie Bishop, Pete & Maureen Stimpson and Pete & Mary Hutton and their families, to name a few. So glad to see that the club is thriving and hope you are keeping well. Kind regards Sue
Events IV 30 - Sunday 24th Jun: - In the past other clubs have used BRCC's online system to manage entries but with GDPR it is felt that each club needs to make its own arrangements to manage such events. HNCC have asked for 1x BRCC rep to coordinate and submit a BRCC list of entrants - David Cook to take this on. BRCC Open 10m TT - F1B/10 - Sunday 10th Jun: - Patrick Smith organising. Still short of volunteers - push to be made to advertise and seek volunteers

May 2018 | The following main points were discussed / decided: Bike Box: A bike box has been purchased - booking page is in development - rental at £20 per week (or part of) with a £50 returnable deposit</p> Welfare Officer: The Welfare Officer is Des Roberts. Emma Weisblatt is Deputy Welfare Officer A Club 'Welfare Statement' is in draft and will be circulated to members once ready A facility to contact the Welfare Officer in confidence and separate from the club and other committee members will be put in place Transgender Issues: As an all inclusive club the club needs to ensure that transgender issues are acknowledged and are in place in terms of competition and use of facilities (such as toilets). It was felt that the policy of the CTT in relation to which in gender category a trans person can compete should be followed i.e. in relation to a transsexual woman, ‘by providing evidence that her hormone therapy has brought her blood-measured testosterone level within the range of her affirmed gender or that she has had a gonadectomy’. |
Apr 2018 | Full minutes here... Link to be added The following main points were discussed / decided: Bike Boxes - Jon Narbett had enquired about the club getting some new Bike Boxes as our existing ones are old and no longer fit for purpose. We agreed to purchase a new Bike Box Alan bike box and make it available to club members at a rental of £20 per week. One of the older boxes will be kept as suitable perhaps for loading to a bus or other such transport. There is an option to purchase a further box if the new one gets significant use. Honorary Membership - Whilst any member may submit a request to consider someone for honorary membership to the committee there was a lack of guidelines as to how the committee should decide upon the merit of such a submission. The following process was agreed as a guide: • The granting of free ‘full’ club membership by a BRCC member for a person could be considered for any of a number of reasons which might include those listed below. • To be nominated to the committee for discussion and agreement Suitability to be considered such as links or support to the club (past & present) • May be granted for a fixed period or for life • May be rescinded by a committee agreement • Reasons / purposes might include: o For the purposes of Club Prestige / Publicity – such as promotion by a celebrity figure o As recognition for a significant contribution to the club – granted indefinitely o In recognition for the support provided to the club for a role taken up within the club where the person would not have otherwise joined the club and granted whilst in role, such as: -- An admin / committee role (Treasurer, Secretary, Club House Maintenance) -- Support to the club in running / organising / assisting in club events and rides -- Support to the club in running / organising / assisting in Go-Ride and similar events sponsored or affiliated with BRCC but not directly a BRCC matter Club Account Update: The club's bank balance is £12,050. Kit and Equipment: The latest order of clothing is in and being distributed to those who ordered kit. The club also has additional items for sale The Club's Defib Battery is in the process of being changed Evening 'TT' League: The following dates / events are in support of increasing the focus on the evening league: 19th & 26th Apr - 2 x Taster sessions have been set up to encourage new entries to go through and demonstrate the TT process, including signing on, pushing off and with a guided ride around both routes. 3rd May the league starts. 7th May - Captains ride on the BH Monday Scoring will be adapted to separate male and female results (also rolled out to the interclub events) A loyalty system to be discussed to encourage greater participation and reward regular riders with free / discounted rides A reminder that we have to pay CTT £2 for each rider. |
